ARRA BSL

ARRA is pleased to be hosting the 6th round of the 2006 BSL on July 9th 2006. Doors will open by 8am, with the racing starting at 10am. We estimate that home member practice will be between 9:40 and 10 - depending on entry levels.

The ARRA site is back! Hopefully my fine host will not decide to delete all my pages again and change the server names just for fun. Results and details of next years main events will be available shortly.

Track Refurbished

The track and club room refurbishment has been finished, so we will be open for racing on Friday 19th November. See you there.

ARRA is a club in Southport dedicated to Slot Car Racing. The club owns and maintains our 138ft track and organizes the racing. We race two classes of cars every Friday night and also run special function events where groups of people can try slot racing in a friendly environment.

Why? The challenge is this - the cars are capable of 60+mph and can go ridiculously sideways on any corner and every corner needs to be braked for (they brake as hard as they go) and the driver has 6 corners to deal with in a 5-7 second lap. Overtaking needs timing - go round the outside of someone and they will power slide into you and have you off. Competition in the club is fierce with standard classes keeping it down to the drivers and competition goes national or international. And the owning of cars needs modeling skills and engineering skills to really excel.

What is Slot Car Racing?

The club races on Friday nights and new members are always welcome.
